Serbia. Vranje is a city and the administrative center of the Pčinja District in southern Serbia. « Jovan Jovanović Zmaj » Elementary School. Students and teachers on hallway and stairs. On the bottom floor, the wall painting is about the Battle of Kosovo and the defeat of the Serbian army. The Battle of Kosovo took place on 15 June 1389 between an army led by the Serbian Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović and an invading army of the Ottoman Empire under the command of Sultan Murad Hüdavendigâr. The battle was fought on the Kosovo field  (Kosovo Polje), distant 10 kilometers northwest of Pristina. On the top floor, the portrait pictures of the students. The Pestalozzi Children's Foundation (Stiftung Kinderdorf Pestalozzi) is advocating access to high quality education for underprivileged children.
