Meskel is the most important religious feast for the orthodox church in Eritrea. It takes place every year on september 27. A day before, an old man is already dressed in white cotton loinclothes and wear a barley crown on his forehead as a symbolical preparation for Meskel's feast.© 2002 Didier Ruef
