Santa Maria della Pieta is specialised in the temporary or permanent care of residents who, as a result of a psychological disorder, require routine assistance, treatment, or a specialised and controlled environment. Patients are often admitted on a voluntary basis, but involuntary commitment is practiced when an individual may pose a significant danger to themselves or others. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a children's novel written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow. Originally published in 1900, it has since been reprinted numerous times, most often under the name The Wizard of Oz. The story chronicles the adventures of a young girl named Dorothy Gale in the Land of Oz, after being swept away from her farm home in a storm. It is one of the best-known stories in American popular culture and has been widely translated. 10.07.97 © 1997 Didier Ruef *** Local Caption ***
