![Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as Artsakh, is a landlocked region in the South Caucasus. Stepanakert is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Artsakh (better known as Nagorno-Karabakh). Art performance at Vahram Papazyan State Drama Theater. ARTsakh Fest 2019 is the second edition of the annual contemporary art festival taking place on 4-6 October, 2019, an event of creative interactivity encompassing all aspects of contemporary arts, such as audio-visual installations, interactive public art and performances. The theme of Artsakh Fest‘19 dubbed “Nakhshun Baji” (Definition: beautiful sister) is about women and conflict. The post-war syndrome deals with bringing in conflict realities into peaceful living and the adaptation to it. Nagorno-Karabakh is a disputed territory, internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, but most of the region is governed by the Republic of Artsakh (formerly named Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), a de facto independent state with Armenian ethnic population. Since 1994, regular peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group have failed to result in a peace treaty. 6.10.2019 © 2019 Didier Ruef](https://www.didierruef.com/img-get/I0000TeQ0tMQyH6A/s/850/850/0016-Nagorno-Karabakh-Artsakh-Stepanakert-State-Drama-Theatre-Art-Exhibit-Performance-Actor-2019.jpg)
