Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as Artsakh, is a landlocked region in the South Caucasus. Stepanakert is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Artsakh (better known as Nagorno-Karabakh). A group of young boys and girls learn and play games on iMac computers at Tumo Center for creative technologies which is a free of charge digital media learning center in Stepanakert. Tumo is a non-profit venture founded by Sam and Sylva Simonian who fully fund its educational program through the Simonian Educational Foundation. Nagorno-Karabakh is a disputed territory, internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, but most of the region is governed by the Republic of Artsakh (formerly named Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), a de facto independent state with Armenian ethnic population.
