Mozambique. Province of Tete. Zobue is a village in the bush. A white doctor (expatriate) teaches a black nurse how to use the stethoscope during a medical consultation. The old seated patient is coughing because he suffers from tuberculosis. Zobue can only be reached by plane. Beacause of the war between the Government and the rebel of the Frelimo party, the roads are either mined or too dangerous to travel on. The airplane is part of the "Flying Doctors" programm ran by the non governmental organisation (ngo) Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) of Belgium. © 1992 Didier Ruef
