The biretta is a square cap with three or four ridges or peaks, sometimes surmounted by a tuft, traditionally worn by Roman Catholic clergy. Bigard Memorial Seminary was composed in 2019 by 63 members of academic staff (22 resident as priest-formators and 46 part-time) and 832 students. The seminary had over the years produced 3 Cardinals, 13 Archbishops, 32 Bishops and numerous priests.
