George Castriot (Albanian: Gjergj Kastrioti, 6 May 1405 – 17 January 1468), known as Skanderbeg was an Albanian nobleman and military commander, who led a rebellion against the Ottoman Empire in what is today Albania. Skanderbeg always signed himself as Lord of Albania (Latin: Dominus Albaniae), and claimed no other titles but that in official documents. Klubi Futbollistik Skënderbeu Korçë is an Albanian professional football club based which plays in the Albanian Superliga, The club's name is Skënderbeu Korçë, after Albania's national hero Skanderbeg. The club's home ground has been the Skënderbeu Stadium since it was built in 1957, and it now has a capacity of 12,343.
