Boubou and holding a red purse in her hand is a friend visiting the family during Tabaski holiday, the Muslim festival of Eid-al-Adha (commonly translated as the Feast of Sacrifice) or Eid el-Kebir. It is the most important Muslim festival and is called Tabaski in West African countries. The boubou is a flowing wide-sleeved robe worn across West Africa.
