Switzerland. Canton Ticino. Gnosca. The sustainable house built by architect Simone Comandini. His son Nicolas, 13 years old, is carrying two glasses on organic grape juice. The living room with the heating system, called "Pigna a legna" (heat accumulation system). The accumulation heat exchanger allows a lower wood consumption and a higher heating and radiating autonomy, The structure of the house is made in wooden frame, filled with straw bales and closed by a smooth layer of earth and sand. The construction is based on improving the ecological footprint of the building and for its inhabitants to live in a house with high energy performance. 23.09.17 © 2017 Didier Ruef
