United Arab Emirates (UAE). Abu Dhabi. Unmanned Systems Exhibition (UMEX 2020). A Tanzanian military delegation visits the stand of Ukrspecsystems LLC, an Ukrainian company. Lt General Yakub Hassan Mohamed (third from right) is the Chief of Staff of the Tanzania People's Defense Forces (TPDF). A salesman presents PD-1 VTOL  fixed-wing drone (R) and Leleka-100 fixed-wing electric UAV (L). Both drones are made in custom gold finishing and both of them are integrated with the same mission control software, which allows to plan, execute and analyze aerial surveillance mission. PD-1 Pro VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) fixed-wing UAV can stay in the air for 7 hours, while carrying 6.5 kg of payload and maximum data link range of 100 km. Leleka-100 is capable of flying for 2.5 hours with EO and IR payload and has maximum range of 50 km. Both drones has been operated by multiple government and private users since 2015. UAVs are a component of an unmanned aircraft system (UAS); which include a UAV, a ground-based controller, and a system of communications between the two. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (or uncrewed aerial vehicle, commonly known as a drone) is an aircraft without a human pilot on board and a type of unmanned vehicle. The flight of UAVs may operate with various degrees of autonomy: either under remote control by a human operator or autonomously by onboard computers.
