The Walther P99 is a semi-automatic pistol developed by the German company Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen as a replacement for the Walther P5 and the P88. In the United States, open carry refers to the practice of "openly carrying a firearm in public", as distinguished from concealed carry, where firearms cannot be seen by the casual observer. A firearm is a portable gun, being a barreled weapon that launches one or more projectiles often driven by the action of an explosive force. Most modern firearms have rifled barrels to impart spin to the projectile for improved flight stability. The word firearms usually is used in a sense restricted to small arms (weapons that can be carried by a single person).
