Switzerland. The Republic and Canton of Neuchâtel. Neuchâtel. Police station Headquarters. Forensic department. 76 cocaine fingers seized on a mule (each finger contains 10 grams, the total was 760 grams). A mule or courier is someone who transports illegal drugs across a border for a smuggling organization. The method was to use the body as a container by gastrointestinal tract. A man from South America had swallowed packages of cocaine by typically filling tiny balloons with small quantities of drug. The balloons were made with multilayered condoms or fingers of latex gloves. A drug mule may swallow dozens upon dozens of balloons. The swallowed balloons were recovered from the mule's excreted feces. The forensic department includes services and police activities related to research and identification of offenses' perpetrators through technical and scientific resources. 31.03.15 © 2015 Didier Ruef
