Switzerland. Canton Valais. St-Maurice. Africa Saints Pilgrimage (Pèlerinage aux Saints d'Afrique). An african man play tambourine and sings with a religious choir to celebrate their faith and belief in Jesus Christ. The first part of the pilgrimage takes place in Véroliez which is a part of the the town of St-Maurice. The tambourine is a musical instrument in the percussion family consisting of a frame, often of wood or plastic, with pairs of small metal jingles. Classically the term tambourine denotes an instrument with a drumhead, though some variants may not have a head at all. 2.06.13 © 2013 Didier Ruef
