China. Province of Shaanxi. Village Shifeng. A portrait of the Yao Jianmin's family whose boy was kidnapped on may 12 2002, sold to a family in the village of Nan Laoguanzui in Henan province. The police found him and brought him back to his family on march 4 2004. The family has then decided, because of the poverty they live in, to resell his child to the family which already bought him (from the thieves) and with whom he lived happy for almost two years. © 2004 Didier Ruef
