Mozambique. Province of Maputo. Moamba is a small town (150 km from the caiptal). A white doctor (expatriate) practises a medical consultation on a young woman who suffers from a filariose.The filariose is a serious tropical disease due to a worm which did enter in the body. Beacause of the war between the Government and the rebel of the Frelimo party, the roads are either mined or too dangerous to travel on. Moamba can only be reached by plane. The non governmental organisation (ngo) Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) of Spain has rehabilitated the hospital. © 1992 Didier Ruef
