USA. Louisiana. Slidell. Aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Marina area near the lake Pontchartrain is virtually destroyed . Most houses were destroyed by the storm, the tidal surge (water wave) and the floods. A woman, wearing a dress with the american flag, walks on the road near the houses' ruins. The area is now empty and all its inhabitants have left away. The people could no longer and ever live again in the houses. The entire area needs to be bulldozed before any new construction can be built. Household waste. Destruction of the urban american way of life. © 2005 Didier Ruef
