Kenya. Rift Valley province. Kasambara (20 km from Nakuru). An old black man from the Kikuyu tribe stands on line and waits for a food distribution, organised by the swiss non-governmental organization (NGO) which runs the Rhein-Valley hospital. The man wears a blue jean hat on the head and is an IDP. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) were forced to flee their homes because of the inter-ethnic strife, but who, unlike refugees, remain within their country's borders. The Kikuyu are Kenya's most populous ethnic group. © 2008 Didier Ruef
