Bosnia. Mostar. Stari Most, also known as Mostar Bridge. A view on the remains of the famous 15th century turkish bridge over the Neretva river. The old bridge was shelled and destroyed in 1993 by croat bombs during the bosnian war (croats against muslims). The bridge's destruction was an attack on a symbol of history, resistance and of Mostar's union between religions. A footbridge was built as an overpass to allow people to get on the other side of the city. 4.06.02 © 2002 Didier Ruef
