The gyrfalcon (Falco rusticolus) is the largest of the falcon species. His assistant is carrying a remote controlled airplane used to train falcons. The raptor flies behind the plane and tries to catch a fake pigeon tied on a rope and used as prey. The man is wearing a white thawb (thobe, dishdasha, kandora) which is an ankle-length garment, usually with long sleeves, similar to a robe, kaftan or tunic, commonly worn in the Arabian Peninsula. The headdress is called ghutrah. Falcons are birds of prey in the genus Falco, which includes about 40 species. The bird is carrying on his back a GPS antenna to track the animal in case it get lost flying away. Adult falcons have thin, tapered wings, which enable them to fly at high speed and change direction rapidly. Additionally, they have keen eyesight for detecting food at a distance or during flight, strong feet equipped with talons for grasping or killing prey, and powerful, curved beaks for tearing flesh. Falcons kill with their beaks, using a "tooth" on the side of their beaks.
