Switzerland. Canton Valais. St-Maurice. Africa Saints Pilgrimage (Pèlerinage aux Saints d'Afrique). An african man from a religious choir holds in his hand a tambourine in his hand and talks on a mobile phone. The tambourine is a musical instrument in the percussion family consisting of a frame, often of wood or plastic, with pairs of small metal jingles. Classically the term tambourine denotes an instrument with a drumhead, though some variants may not have a head at all. Sketches and drawings on the wall. The written words say: Life is not like an easy river. The first part of the pilgrimage takes place in Véroliez which is a part of the town of St-Maurice. 2.06.13 © 2013 Didier Ruef
