Switzerland. Geneva. A group of recruits ( policemen and policewomen) from the police academy march past during their last training session. They wear uniforms, white gloves, tricorns on the heads and carry old rifles with bayonet on the shoulders. In a few hours, they will be all sworn in as police officers. The tricorne or tricorn is a style of hat that was popular during the 18th century, falling out of style by 1800. The tricorne was worn as part of military uniforms.
