Kenya. Rift Valley province. Kasambara (20 km from Nakuru). A black father holds the hands of his daughter while talking to a woman. They all are from the Kikuyu tribe and wait for a food distribution, organised by the swiss non-governmental organization (NGO) running the Rhein-Valley hospital. The people are Internally displaced persons (IDPs), forced to flee their homes because of the inter-ethnic strifes, but who, unlike refugees, remain within their country's borders. The Kikuyu are Kenya's most populous ethnic group. © 2008 Didier Ruef
