Albania. Korçë County. Ersekë. Former communist mural. celebrating the victory against the German Wehrmacht (Nazis) by the people of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania (Albanian: Republika Popullore Socialiste e Shqipërisë, or RPSSh for short). RPSSh became a state and was the predecessor of the present Republic of Albania, which existed in this form from 1944 to 1990. After its founding on 24 May 1944 and established nationwide after the withdrawal of the Wehrmacht on 29 November 1944, it was a real socialist one-party dictatorship under the leadership of the Party of Labour of Albania (PAA) until 1990.
