Switzerland. The Republic and Canton of Neuchâtel. Neuchâtel. Narcotics squad. "Narko" operation. A police officer in plain-clothes checks for traffic of illegal substances (drugs). The policeman is seated in a van, looks through binoculars and talks with a walkie talkie (police radio communication) to other policemen standing undercover on the lake side. Plainclothes law enforcement is a method used by police. The policemen wear plainclothes or "ordinary clothes" instead of a uniform in order to avoid detection or identification as law enforcement agents. Police officers in plainclothes must identify themselves when using their police powers. Binoculars, field glasses or binocular telescopes are a pair of identical or mirror-symmetrical telescopes mounted side-by-side and aligned to point accurately in the same direction, allowing the viewer to use both eyes (binocular vision) when viewing distant objects. Most are sized to be held using one or both hands. 8.04.15 © 2015 Didier Ruef
