Ukraine. Province of Kiev. Slavutich. Fishermen on the frozen Dniep river. None of the men control the radioactivity level of the fishes they catch. Radiations pass through the food chain into the human body and cause health problems. The town of Slavutich was created after the catastrophe which took place on april 1986 at 1.23 am with the explosion of reactor No 4 at Chernobyl atomic power station. Slavutich is distant 60 km from the power station and was newly built after the evacuation of the inhabitants from both towns of Pripyat and Chernobyl. © 2006 Didier Ruef
