Switzerland. Canton Bern. Brienz. Modern traffic roundabout. Rocks, stones and trees. Small metal boats with flowers. Wooden sculptures with various figures from traditional swiss folklore. A man blows the alphorn, another throws a swiss flag in the air, a couple of yodelers sings. Yodeling (also jodeling) is a form of singing which involves repeated and rapid changes of pitch between the low-pitch chest register (or "chest voice") and the high-pitch head register or falsetto. The alphorn or alpenhorn or alpine horn is a labrophone, consisting of a straight several-meter-long wooden natural horn of conical bore, with a wooden cup-shaped mouthpiece. It is used by mountain dwellers in the Swiss Alps. Alphorns are today used as musical instruments. The flag of Switzerland displays a white cross in the centre of a square red field. The white cross is known as the Swiss cross. 1.11.2020 © 2020 Didier Ruef
