Kenya. Rift Valley province. Nakuru. 25.01.2008. A black Kikuyu family stands at Show Ground. The father, mother and daughter with a family's friend. They were able to save on a cart some personal belongings, like a bicycles and a few mattresses. They are all Internally displaced persons (IDPs), forced to flee their homes because of the inter-ethnic strifes but who, unlike refugees, remain within their country's borders. The Kikuyus are Kenya's most populous ethnic group. © 2008 Didier Ruef
