Switzerland. Canton Ticino. Viganello. On its way downstream, the Casarate river flows through the Val Colla valley before reaching the city centre of Lugano. Due to heavy rain, the river is raging after excessive rainfall. Soil and various wooden debris are carried by the water. The police has closed the bridge to the traffic due to the high water level. An elderly woman protects herself from the rain under an umbrella decorated with butterflies and water droplets. Viganello is a quarter of the city of Lugano. 7.06.2020 © 2020 Didier Ruef
