Somaliland. Waqohi Galbed province. Hargeisa. After a long war, on 18th May 1991, the Isaaq declared independence from the Somalia. The Isaaq (also Ishaak, Isaac) is a major Somali clan and one of the largest Somali clans in the Horn of Africa, with a large and densely populated traditional territory. Somaliland is an unrecognised de facto sovereign state located in the Horn of Africa. Hargeisa is the capital of Somaliland. © 2006 Didier Ruef
