Switzerland. Geneva. Paquis neighborhood. Two police officers control the identity of a man eating an apple. The policemen look for people selling illegal substances (drugs) in the streets. The man is a black african from Guinea who will be left free after the control. Both policemen have a two-way radio which is a radio that can both transmit and receive (a transceiver). A two-way radio (transceiver) allows the operator to have a conversation with other similar radios operating on the same radio frequency (channel). Two-way radios are available with hand-held portable configurations. Hand-held radios are often called walkie-talkies or handie-talkies. Both police officers are wearing a ballistic vest, bulletproof vest or bullet-resistant vest which is an item of personal armor that helps absorb the impact from knives, firearm-fired projectiles and shrapnel from explosions, and is worn on the torso.
