Switzerland. Canton Ticino. Melano. Ticino State Police, Reparto Intervento Speciali. Special Intervention Unit (SIU). Training exercice with SIU men arriving by air on a ship following a hostage taking. Two policemen, who just came down by the rope from Swiss Air Force EC635 helicopter, stand on the deck of «Morcote » ship. They aim their APC-556 machine guns on potential ennemies. A police tactical unit (PTU) is a specialised police unit formed and trained to handle situations that are beyond the capabilities of ordinary law enforcement units because of the level of violence - or risk of violence - involved. During the training’s exercice, the police tactical unit intervenes in a high risk situation, such as shootouts, hostage and terrorist incidents. The national flag of Switzerland displays a white cross in the centre of a square red field. The white cross is known as the Swiss cross. 18.02.22 © 2022 Didier Ruef
