Kenya. Rift Valley province. Nakuru. 23.01.2008. A black Kikuyu mother holds her daughter in the arms. She is with her sister and her aunt. They are all IDPSs and sit among their belongings in Show Ground. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) are people forced to flee their homes because of the inter-ethnic strife but who, unlike refugees, remain within their country's borders. The Kikuyu are Kenya's most populous ethnic group. © 2008 Didier Ruef
