Rwanda. Southern province. Murambi. A black young man, from the Ibuka association ( Tutsi survivors of the 1994 Genocide) covers his head with a mallow scarf in order to protect it from the sun. Mauve is the color of mourning. 13th commemoration of the Genocide. The site of Murambi is located in the district of Nyamagabe, in the former Gikongoro prefecture, Nyamagabe commune. The site of Murambi is intented to be a regional research and documentation centre on Genocide. A special memory place where over 50'000 people perished on the site. © 2007 Didier Ruef
