The business of growing cannabis CBD is registered with the Swiss Federal Health Office. Several Swiss companies cultivate CBD plants in greenhouses as a tobacco substitute or according to medical standards in order to produce blossoms, concentrates, and other CBD products (oils, extracts and tinctures). The Swiss legal requirements have a 1 percent THC limit compare to the European Union (EU) where the THC limit is limited to 0.3 percent. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. It is one of some 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant's extract. Cannabidiol can be taken into the body in multiple ways, including by inhalation of cannabis smoke or vapor, as an aerosol spray into the cheek, and by mouth.
