The original image was taken by the photographer Alberto Korda and entitled the Guerrillero Heroico (Heroic Guerrilla Fighter). It is an iconic photograph of Marxist revolutionary. It was captured on March 5, 1960, in Havana, Cuba, at a memorial service for victims of the La Coubre explosion. Ernesto "Che" Guevara (14 June 1928 – 9 October 1967) was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist.
