Switzerland. Canton Ticino. Lugano. The portrait of Ernesto Che Guevara is painted on a rock close to the forest. The original image was taken by the photographer Alberto Korda and entitled the Guerrillero Heroico (Heroic Guerrilla Fighter). It is an iconic photograph of Marxist revolutionary. It was captured on March 5, 1960, in Havana, Cuba, at a memorial service for victims of the La Coubre explosion. Ernesto "Che" Guevara (14 June 1928 – 9 October 1967) was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylized visage has become a ubiquitous countercultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture. 8.03.2020 © 2020 Didier Ruef
