Serbia. Zitkovac is a village in Central Serbia situated in the municipality of Aleksinac, in the Nišava District. « Vuk Karadzic » Elementary School. Classroom. 5th Grade. Serbian class. The school’s students are from Serbian and Romani ethnicity. The boy with black hair and dark skin complexion (seated on the second row with his arm up), the girl (C) and the boy (C) (both not raising their arms); all three are Roma children. The others are Serbian. The Romani (also spelled Romany) or Roma, Roms or Gypsies, are a traditionally itinerant ethnic group. The Pestalozzi Children's Foundation (Stiftung Kinderdorf Pestalozzi) is advocating access to high quality education for underprivileged children.
