USA. Mississippi. Bay St Louis. Aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Most houses were destroyed by the storm, the tidal surge (water wave) and the floods. A volunteer from the Soutern Baptist Convention ( Disaster Relief Georgia Baptist Convention) climbs on a ladder to the roof of a house. He holds in his hand a rake to clean the roof from fallen tree's branches. The american flag means: We have survived and we will rebuild , we are Americans ! The house is now empty and all its inhabitants have left away. © 2005 Didier Ruef
