Switzerland. Canton Ticino. Pregassona. A senior man lying down on an emergency medical stretcher is brought to hospital for medical examination. The elderly man is suffering from a heart problem. The paramedic, wearing a blue uniform and medical gloves, is a volunteer specifically trained in emergency rescue. He checks the patient's intravenous infusion of saline solution. The patient is also connected to a monitor which controls a set of vital functions, such as  electrocardiogram, blood pressure’s measurement, respiratory rate and pulse oximetry (oxygen saturation). Medical gloves are disposable gloves used during medical examinations and procedures to help prevent cross-contamination between caregivers and patients.
