A member of a swiss riflemen's association aim and shoots with a semi-automatic assault rifle SG 550 on target during the memorial shooting for « L’escalade ». L'Escalade, or Fête de l'Escalade (from escalade, the act of scaling defensive walls), is an annual festival held in Geneva, celebrating the defeat of the surprise attack by troops sent by Charles Emmanuel I, Duke of Savoy during the night of 11–12 December 1602. A shooting range or firing range or pistol range or rifle range or shooting gallery or shooting ground is a specialized facility designed for firearms practice. The SG 550 is an assault rifle manufactured by Swiss Arms AG (formerly Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft) of Neuhausen, Switzerland. "SG" is an abbreviation for Sturmgewehr, or "assault rifle". The rifle is based on the earlier 5.56mm SG 540 and is also known as the Fass 90 or Stgw 90. An assault rifle is a selective-fire rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine. 21.10.2017 © 2017 Didier Ruef
