Kenya. Rift Valley province. Kasambara (20 km from Nakuru). A black woman from the Kikuyu tribe waits for a food distribution, organised by the swiss non-governmental organization (NGO) running the Rhein-Valley hospital. The woman is an Internally displaced person (IDP), forced to flee her home because of the inter-ethnic strife, but who, unlike refugees, remains within her country's borders. The Kikuyu are Kenya's most populous ethnic group. © 2008 Didier Ruef
