Thailand. Town of Klong Luang. Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Environmental research center. Lab scale experiments of constructed wetlands. The vietnamese PhD student, Mr Dao Kim Luu (L) with his university teacher Dr. Thammarat Koottatep (R), analyses the parameters of water samples collected outside in the vertical flow of constructed wetlands. The university's researchs are linked with the project in the village of Lai Xa, Vietnam, where a small-scale wastewater management project is a sucessful decentralized sanitation implementation. The researchs are sponsored by the following swiss institutions, National Centre of Competence in Research North-South (NCCR N-S), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Eawag ( also called Sandec, a Swiss-based and internationally linked aquatic research institute committed to an ecological, economical and socially responsible management of water).
