Congo Republic. Kouilou Province. Mayombe forest. National Road 1 (RN1) is a national road connecting the capital, Brazzaville, to Pointe-Noire. it was built by China State Construction Engineering Ltd (CSCEC). On the asphalt road RN1, a truck transports logs towards Pointe-Noire. The logs cut by lumberjack are transported by large trailer trucks called "log carriers", long towed vehicles with tonnages reaching thirty or fifty tonnes. Logs are felled trees, simply delimbed and left with their bark. They are pieces of wood formed from a trunk or a portion of a trunk that has not been squared, generally covered with its bark.
