Italy. Piedmont region. Turin. Piazza Palazzo di Citta. Lights of the Artists (Luci d'Artista) is an annual art event which takes place from november to march in the center of Turin. Daniel Buren, a well-known contemporary artist, has created the "Tappeto volante". The art piece has the colors of the flag of Italy (bandiera d'Italia, often referred to in Italian as il Tricolore) is a tricolour featuring three equally sized vertical pales of green, white, and red, with the green at the hoist side. Daniel Buren (born 25 March 1938) is a French conceptual artist. Sometimes classified as an abstract minimalist. Buren is known best for using regular, contrasting maxi stripes to integrate the visual surface and architectural space, notably historical, landmark architecture. The work is site specific installation, having a relation to its setting in contrast to prevailing ideas of a work of art standing alone. 6.12.2011 © WHO /Didier Ruef
