Switzerland. Canton Vaud. Vevey. Restaurant « Les Trois Sifflets ». The waiter uses a giant grinder and pours pepper into a Swiss cheese fondue. A metal Swiss cross is laid on top of the caquelon, also called fondue pot. The flag of Switzerland displays a white cross in the centre of a square red field. The white cross is known as the Swiss cross. As a custom in the restaurant, when ordering a fondue, the waiters wear some Swiss military artefacts, such as a helmet or a beret. 26.11.21. © 2021 Didier Ruef
