Albania. Elbasan County. Prrenjas. An elderly couple, both Rom, lives in small house squatted for years near an abandoned mine. The old man fixes the broken wheel of a child. His wife cuts a cabbage and prepares the food for supper. The Romani people, also known as the Roma, Rom, are an ethnic group of Indo-Aryan origin. Squatting is the action of occupying an abandoned or unoccupied area of a building, usually residential that the squatter does not own, rent or otherwise have lawful permission to use.
