Switzerland. Canton Ticino. Brè. Cemetery with tombstones. On the wall, a mosaic by Wilhelm Schmid of joyful men celebrating the last supper. Wilhelm Schmid (1892–1971) was a Swiss painter, who focuses on New Objectivity and Magic Realism. The Last Supper represents the scene of the Last Supper of Jesus with his apostles, as it is told in the Gospel of John. A mosaic is a piece of art or image made from the assembling of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. It is often used in decorative art. Most mosaics are made of small, flat, roughly square, pieces of stone or glass of different colors, known as tesserae. The village of Brè lies on the eastern slope of Monte Brè. 23.03.2019 © 2019 Didier Ruef
