Kenya. Rift Valley province. Nakuru. 23.01.2008. A black Kikuyu girl seats on a mattress and reads a newspaper in a building at Show Ground. The girl and her family were able to save some personal belongings, like some a suitcase, blankets and various bags. She is an Internally displaced persons (IDP), forced to flee her home because of the inter-ethnic strifes but who, unlike refugees, remain within her country's borders. The Kikuyus are Kenya's most populous ethnic group. © 2008 Didier Ruef
