Due to an an ambitious undertaking through dams construction which aims to reverse one of the world's man-made environmental disaster and bring back the sea, the water is returning to the Kazakh Aral sea (small Aral). The men can fish today where a year ago the dried up (dry bed) Aral Sea was a dry landscape due to overuse of water resources started at the time of former Soviet Union.
