Mozambique. Province of Tete. Manje is a small village in the bush. It can only be reached by plane. A small boy lies on his back while a white doctor (expatriate) practises a medical consultation. Because of the war between the Government and the rebel of the Frelimo party, the roads are either mined or too dangerous to travel on. The airplane is part of the "Flying Doctors" programm ran by the non governmental organisation (ngo) Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) of Belgium. © 1992 Didier Ruef
